People get your ears checked. This cd rocks. Are you really Edguy fans? It’s clearly not better than Hellfire or Mandrake, but it’s up there.Go listen to Nirvana if you don’t like this.Stupid people.

Don’t be idiots. Can’t you see that Edguy just wants to understand how many fans are truly loyal to them. Look at Alice Cooper, his last album is horrible. Look at Metallica, you just feel like breaking their recent albums in half. Look at Aerosmith, they sing the Blues, Look at Bon Jovi, it is Country now for them. Even Rob Zombie got softer. Be loyal to our Edguy, give them time, they will always be a great band, no matter what.

This album is actually a great album. Pretty solid throughout. Some more hard rock type stuff, which is very well done, but Pride of Creation and Speedhoven are definitely classic Edguy power metal. Compared to other Edguy albums I find it holds up fairly well. Not sure why some people are so disappointed.

The first couple times I listened to Tinnitus, I was somewhat dissapointed, since Mandrake, and Savage Poetry(2000) are two of my all time favorite albums. I didn’t like Hellfire at first but it qrew on me, a little. I loved Rocket Ride upon first listen, but it quickly fell back down to earth. This album seemed like it would be another major letdown, but I initially liked a couple of the songs so I kept giving it a chance.

It is not Vain Glory Opera. Over a decade has passed since that treasure was bestowed upon mankind. Was re-Load as good as Master of Puppets, or even the same style of metal for that matter?

I’m not saying Tinnitus is as bad as re-Load; that was a blemish on the mighty face of Metallica. We are simply in a different era of Edguy. As much as I would love to hear a Theater of Salvation part 2, this slightly evolved edition of Edguy is growing on me. I think it has been an evolution we have been witnessing since Mandrake, and am not surprised or dissapointed by the progression.

Let’s face it Edguy has always been a little hair rock. Listen to some of their power ballads, like Scarlet Rose, or the fist raising rock anthems such as Vain Glory Opera or Fallen Angels. They also made some of the best european style melodic power metal, and that is what so many of us miss, since the last three albums have been less power, and more Hair.

I like the hair. I love Def Leppard, Skid Row, GNR, the Scorp’s, etc.

I also love Helloween, Kamelot, Primal Fear, and DragonForce. This new album falls somewhere in between all of these bands. Ministry of Saints and Dead or Rock will have you raising your fists, or horns or whatever in the air. Speedhoven will summon the power metal demons from within, and then Thorn Without a Rose will have you raising your lighter.

It isn’t their best album, but it is a good one. So keep listening to it, because it will grow on you

  5. It saddens me to hear this album. I really liked Edguy, I think they have made some of the best power metal albums to date. But this album is not even Metal, it’s power rock. The boring drums are really just plain class 1 rock drums. The guitars have lost all the punch, and they sound nothing special. The only credit I can give to the album are the catchy melodies on the chorus. There are barely any guitar solos and the voice of Tobias has lost all its strength. WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO YOU GUYS!????!?!

I think this album may possibly destroy their career. Join bands like Stratovarius and Helloween. Making albums just for the sake of making them.

WHERE DID ALL THE PASSION GO?
